Louise Fluke

Louise Fluke (February 9, 1900 - July 27, 1986) was born in Van Buren, Arkansas, and moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma with her family a year later. As a young girl she received art lessons. As she became older, she continued her art lessons at Columbia University and the Chicago Art Institute. On December 1924 she married George Fluke and had one son.
In 1925 she entered and won a contest to design the Flag of Oklahoma sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution.〔(Oklahoma State Library )〕
Fluke died of pneumonia in July 1986, at the age of 86.
